The estimated STOOIP is 180 million standard m 3. A separate, smaller accumulation has also been proved in Middle Jurassic Garn Formation sands in the western part of the field. The main reservoir is the Late Jurassic Rogn Formation sands, interpreted as a shallow marine sand bar. The reservoir lies at a depth of 1600 m subsea and has an oil column of 40 m. The field is hosted by a low-relief north-south-trending anticline measuring some 20 by 6 km. Five additional exploration/appraisal wells and 2D seismic assisted in delineating the reservoir The Draugen field was discovered in 1984 by well 6407/9-1. The field is located 150 km off the coast of Norway and 200 km south of the Arctic Circle, in water depths of 240 to 280 m. The Draugen oil field lies in block 6407/9 in the Haltenbanken oil and gas province. The Asgard transport pipeline is used for transport of natural gas to Kårstø. Oil transport is accomplished through tanker via floating buoy. The platform consists of a concrete monocolumn with integrated deck. They are all producing reservoirs with good characteristics. The major reservoir is the Rogn Formation, a shallow marine sand bar of the Late Jurassic at around 1,600 metres (5,200 ft), while on the western side of the field is the Garn Formation of the Middle Jurassic. Īdditional resources in the Garn Vest structure came on stream in December 2001, while development of additional resources at the Rogn Sør structure were approved in the spring of 2001, coming on stream in January 2003. The field has six subsea water injection wells. The Garn Vest and Rogn Sør deposits have been developed with a total of five subsea wells connected to the main facility at Draugen. Two flowlines connect the facility to a floating loading buoy. Stabilized oil is stored in tanks in the base of the facility. The field has been developed with a concrete fixed facility and integrated topside. It has been operating by A/S Norske Shell until sold to AS OKEA in 2018.
